About UBC
The Ultimate Bowls™ Championship showcases the sport at its fast-paced, innovative and entertaining best, with record prize money on the line.
Fast-Paced Bowls, Reimagined
The Ultimate Bowls™ format has been purposefully designed to appeal to dedicated bowls fans and new audiences alike. Each fast-paced match takes approximately 25 minutes, keeping spectators at the venue and viewers at home engaged from the first bowl to the last.
UBC’s dynamic scoring system gives players the opportunity to earn points with every bowl delivered. Both teams can score in the same end, making every delivery count.
UBC’s electronic scoreboards connect directly to our custom-developed web app, updating scores as points are awarded and generating live match summaries, points tables and leaderboards.
Every bowl is recorded, supporting detailed team and individual performance statistics. Spectators can follow live scores, results and standings through the UBC website, with player leaderboards updated as eligible matches are completed.
The result is bowls that is exciting to play, easy to follow and entertaining to watch.
Scoring and Format
Matches are played as three-bowl pairs over five ends. Both teams can earn points for bowl position at the completion of each end, with additional points awarded during play for touchers and the leads’ shot.
- 10 points for the closest bowl
- 5 points for the second-closest bowl
- 3 points for the third-closest bowl
- 3 points for every toucher
- 3 points for the team holding shot after the leads have completed their bowls
